2026 IMC Team Selection
The 2026 International Mathematics Competition (IMC), or referred to as MIMC 2026, takes place from 20 to 25 July in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
To be eligible for South African team selection for the International Mathematics Competition, learners need to enrol for 2026 IMC Team Selection at the cost of R100. (One of the mathematics competition selection tests is the 2026 IMAS Round 1 which has an entry fee of 3 USD per participant.)
The first mathematics team selection test is scheduled from 3 to 5 February 2026. Timeslots can now be booked for online invigilation.
Video Courses
We are offering support for the preparation for IMAS Round 1. Most of the courses are videos that works through previous IMAS Round 1 papers. The courses available are:
- Video Course: Junior Secondary IMAS R1 2017-2022
- Video Course: Junior Secondary IMAS R1 2011-2016
- Video Course: Upper Primary IMAS R1 2017-2022
- Video Course: Upper Primary IMAS R1 2011-2016
- Video Course: Middle Primary IMAS R1 2017-2022
- Video Course: Middle Primary Introductory Course
The enrolment fee is R600 per course. Please note that the IMAS R1 past paper recordings are from courses that ran for IMAS Round 1 preparation in January 2024 and January 2025 and learners who enrolled for those live courses already have access to the relevant videos through those courses. The Middle Primary Introductory Course is brand-new.
Pre-2026 Participation Assignment (IMC and EGMO)
Deadline: 1 February 2026
This assignment applies to both the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) and European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) projects. It can be attempted at home at a learner’s own pace. The results will be used as part of IMC team selection as well as to identify potential girls to invite to our 2026 January Girls’ Camp (sponsored event). These assignments are available in both Afrikaans and English.
There are two age groups:

Grade 4+5 (grade 3+4 in 2025):
An assignment of 25 multiple choice questions to be completed on our website.

Grade 6 and above (grade 5 and above in 2025)
An assignment of 5 questions requiring learners to explain their methods/reasons and to be submitted on our website.
